New classrooms support students at WoodLinks State School

New learning spaces at WoodLinks State School are supporting students and staff as part of the Palaszczuk Government’s ongoing commitment to more world-class education across Ipswich.

The $2.2 million investment in the Collingwood Park primary school includes a new Prep building and another two new learning spaces.

Member for Bundamba Lance McCallum said the government continued to upgrade existing schools to support an evolving curriculum in and out of the classroom.

“We’re boosting the capacity of state schools across our local community, including new and upgraded infrastructure at WoodLinks, along with Fernbrooke, Bellbird Park, Redbank Plains and Ripley Valley,” Mr McCallum said.

“We’re delivering a new multi-storey building with 12 learning spaces and an administration centre at Goodna Special School – a $21.7 million investment in more purpose-built facilities.

“This year we also opened two brand-new schools locally, Woogaroo Creek State School and Ripley Central State School, and a new state school at Bellbird Park is on schedule to open in 2024.”

WoodLinks State School Principal Greg Noble said the new classrooms had been warmly welcomed by students and staff alike.

“There’s no doubt the learning spaces are wonderful new additions to our school community as we continue to enrol new students each and every year,” Mr Noble said.

“They’re light and bright spaces that complement our existing facilities and further enhance our school grounds that we’re all incredibly proud of.”
