Bundamba’s new full-service Transport and Main Roads Customer Service Centre has taken a major step forward, with tenders for the final design now closed.
Member for Bundamba Lance McCallum said concept designs for the new centre would soon be underway.
“Transport and Main Roads Customer Services Centres play an important role in our state – they’re where young Queenslanders get their L plates, vehicles are registered and practical driver tests take place,” Mr McCallum said.
“Because of this, we’re getting works underway to make it easier for Bundamba locals to access the crucial services provided by these centres.
“The centre at 28 Brisbane Road will offer a full range of transport services including licensing, registration and more.
“Accessibility and inclusivity will also be front of mind throughout the design phase, to ensure the centre can be used by all.
“Being delivered as part of the Palaszczuk Government’s record $27.5 billion transport plan, the new customer service centre is a massive win for Bundamba locals and frontline Transport and Main Road workers alike.
“We’re also rolling out a number of projects for the community, including a $38 million major upgrade to the Bundamba train station, and the recently completed $2.5 million safety improvements to Brisbane Road.”
Mr McCallum said the centre was set to open in late-2022, construction scheduling and weather permitting.
“Fit out of the site is set to start in mid-to-late 2022 after the design is finalised, with the centre set to open before the end of the year,” he said.
"I look forward to providing more details about the new site over coming months."
