Three local schools are set for improvement works as part of a $17.6 million education investment by the Palaszczuk Government.
Redbank Plains State School will benefit from a refurbished Block F, providing new general learning spaces and an outdoor learning area early next year, while Block G at Bundamba State Secondary College will receive a replacement roof.
The move follows the announcement earlier this month of the three-building expansion of Bellbird Park State Secondary College.
Member for Bundamba Lance McCallum said works would provide students and staff with more modern, comfortable learning environments.
“Improvements at Redbank Plains State School will quite literally be delivered from top to bottom as part of our School Infrastructure Enhancement program,” Mr McCallum said.
“Everything from new lights and floor coverings to operable walls, replacement kitchenettes and art sinks and the creation of a new outdoor learning area.
“This is a big win for the school community, and it will be great to see the new spaces up and running in Term 2 next year.
“We continue to maintain and improve schools across our local Ipswich community, and at Bundamba State Secondary College that means a new roof to replace the current structure atop Block G.
“We’ve also recently called for tender submissions for the refurbishment of Blocks B and E at Goodna State School to further upgrade facilities at the Alice Street school.
“It’s all part of delivering on our budget commitment – a $157.2 million investment in world-class education in Ipswich – and that includes three new buildings at Bellbird Park State Secondary College for the start of the 2022 school year.”
