School upgrades across the local Bundamba community continue as part of the Palaszczuk Government’s commitment to world-class education in Ipswich.
Member for Bundamba Lance McCallum said a new $8.8 million building with 12 learning spaces would support increased enrolments at Ripley Valley State Secondary College, while new covered walkways, fencing and an upgraded Prep outdoor learning area had been completed at Redbank State School.
“Ripley Valley State Secondary College continues to enjoy considerable enrolment growth since opening in January 2020,” Mr McCallum said.
“The new learning spaces will support the Stage 2 development, which includes a new information services centre, science centre and performing arts centre.
“Students at Redbank State School are now making the most of another outdoor learning area following our earlier delivery of a major playground and outdoor upgrade.
“While we continue our investment in existing schools and record numbers of frontline workers, we’re also building new facilities to support our rapidly growing local community.
“Our brand-new $66 million Ripley Central State School and $85 million Woogaroo Creek State School are set to open to students at the start of 2023, and we’re also building a new primary school in Bellbird Park and a high school in the Collingwood Park/Redbank Plains area, both of which will open in 2024.”
