A minor injury and illness clinic, mental health specialists and consult rooms for 800 appointments a week lead the South Ripley Satellite Hospital service mix announced today as part of the Palaszczuk Government’s commitment to more healthcare closer to home.
The Barrams Road facility, which is currently under construction, will also include oral health, BreastScreen and medical imaging and diagnostic services.
Member for Bundamba Lance McCallum said the satellite hospital was one of seven being delivered across the state under the biggest investment in new hospitals and new beds in Queensland’s history.
“The South Ripley Satellite Hospital will support other health facilities across our local community like Ipswich Hospital, where our Stage 2 expansion is delivering 200 additional beds, and Mater Hospital Springfield, where we’re investing $177 million in a 174-bed public expansion,” Mr McCallum said.
“We’re also delivering a new three-storey 90-bed sub-acute facility next to the satellite hospital, providing additional healthcare like rehabilitation, geriatric, palliative care and interim care.
“Our $9.78 billion Health and Hospitals Plan continues to provide our local community with new and improved facilities and world-class services supported by record numbers of frontline workers.”
